Synthesis of Micro-Spherical Porous Hydroxyapatite Particles by Wet Method by Ayu Kodaira1*, Toru Nonami1*, Hiroko Hase 2* 1 Graduate School of computer and Cognitive Sciences, Chukyo University, JAPAN Abstract We developed the porous Hydroxyapatite particle by wet method. The synthesis condition to make the spherical and porous Hydroxyapatite was examined. To synthesize the Hydroxyapatite, phosphorus and calcium were dissolved in water and the solution was stirred. Calcium and phosphorous ratio and the concentration in the solution have been changed. As a result, the microscopic particles generated it in solution. The generated crystal was Hydroxyapatite. The condition of synthesizing a target Hydroxyapatite has been understood. The surface area of the Hydroxyapatite whose particle diameter is three microns was 72m2/g. A spherical Hydroxyapatite was a set of a plate-like crystal. The obtained Hydroxyapatite particle diameter was 1~10µm, increase with the solution concentration. And the pore size was 0.1 ~0.5 µm regardless of particle diameter. The particle size can be controlled by a solution concentration and molar ratio.
