| UK Centre for Structural Ceramics | November 5th, 2008 |
The Departments of Materials and Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London have been awarded £5.5M by the UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to set up a national centre for structural ceramics. Starting on 1st July 2008, the Centre aims to address the UK's lack of critical mass in this area and will develop strong links to energy, aerospace and defence, transport and healthcare industries. read more >> |

The 9th ESG Conference with the Annual Meeting of the International Commission on Glass (ICG) hosted by the Slovak Glass Society was held in June 2008 in Trencín, Slovakia. The conference was intended to deal not only with the state of the art in the areas glass science and technology today, but also to address the questions of future developments, applications and challenges in glass science and technology.
