Australian Ceramic Society Scholarship Donations

Your donation will be used in its entirety to support students with absolutely no overheads or management fees. There is the practical consequence that a donation allows you benefits that surpass the initial investment. Thus, while a donation is often considered as a non-profit gift; it is also akin to services in lieu of direct expenses. This means that the student who you directly support will be trained to work in your industry. These individuals will be trained as professional ceramists and materials scientists/engineers and give back their expertise to the profession. You can employ these young engineers and scientists knowing that they were the crème de la crème in our profession.

The suggested donation? Start by thinking about how much you would normally pay for membership in a professional society (maybe $100 or more); and remember that your current fee for the Australian Ceramic Society is zero. This is a basis to work on! However, it is up to individuals to work around this base-line according to their resources and passion for supporting young people to enter and remain in the field of ceramics. Any amount would be most welcome. Your name will be listed on the WEB site as a donor if you wish. The amount will not be disclosed.

We encourage you to make an award to undergraduate students in the name of some one at a cost of $500 for three years. The Society at present is offering 3 Awards of $500 to all Australian university final year undergraduates judged on their project work. We also would like to encourage overseas members to make a similar award open only for members studying at any overseas university or a nominated university.

You can contribute using the donation form.
